Surtal Asian Arts is a vibrant Asian arts organisation which promotes South Asian arts and
culture in the East MidlandFounded in 1994, this Derby-based organisation plays a significant role locally and regionally in promoting the appreciation and practice of the diverse art forms originating from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan Working closely with professional artists, youth, community groups and other organisations, Surtal promotes and develops South Asian art forms through practical projects, performances, training courses, conferences, seminars, schools programmes, showcases and promotion of UK based and International artist(s) Our Mission Statement " Surtal aims to widen access to South Asian arts and culture across Derby, Derbyshire & the East Midlands through promoting, celebrating and sharing high quality production, advocacy participatory education and out reach activities " |
