Complimenting the Lantern Sculpture at the Derby Museum & Art Gallery, members of the Deaf-initely Group, created their own colourful piplis using re-cycle saris, adorned with sequence and beads in a textile workshop led by international artist, Ranbir Kaur at the Museum of Making. All the hearing impaired women were supported by Deaf-initely with transcribers and BSL interpreters to ensure everyone had a great experience creating their artistic pieces.

Ranbir went onto creating two further piplis at this year's ‘Assemble - Derby's Making Festival’, organised by the Museum of Making.
All the Deaf-initely Group piplis have been proudly installed at the Museum of Making alongside Ranbir Kaur's work at the textile studio on the 1st floor. We are very proud of their achievement. Do go and see their amazing work!
