There are quite a few workshops happening during school Half Term holiday around Derby. So choose a venue and book your place and come and join us crafting your lantern using the themes, 'LIGHT' & 'HEROES'.
Heroes can be anything or anybody who you think has a difference in your life or in your family or in your community or in the world! Using your imagination and creativity, our expert artist will help you crafting your own unique lantern, paying a glowing tribute to a personal role model, local legend, or superhero.
We also have special Diwali Lantern Making on 1st November at the Indian Community centre and at the Chinese Welfare association on 31st October, you can make Lanterns inspired by Chinese Moon Festival.
Illuminate your lantern with a battery operated LED light (not included with ticket) and bring your finished lantern to our Lantern Parade on Saturday 28th November. Wear your super hero costumes (if you like), showcase your beautiful lantern and light up Derby city center.
It's a great family day out not to be missed! Suitable for adults, families and children 5+. Children under age 7 must be accompanied by an adult.
Workshop places have to reserved at £5pp. However, with the kind sponsorhips from Cosy and Foundation Derbyshire, we are able to offer limited FREE tickets to people who are pensioners, on benefits, full time students, unpaid carers, refugees and asylum seekers.
