Surtal Asian Arts strongly believes that arts play a vital role in our society especially where young people concern. For over 20 years we've been providing workshops aimed for children and young people in nurseries, schools, colleges and youth centres. We're extremely proud of the quality work we do in education, and have inspired hundreds of young people along the way!
What kind of activities do we offer?
From one hour taster sessions to assembly performances, we offer a variety of packages to suit your needs.
We also deliver long term projects using South Asian dance (Indian Classical, Folk Bhangra, Bollywood Dance), music (various percussion, singing), culturally specific visual arts, storytelling and digital arts.
Tailored experiences
Workshops are tailored to your group’s age, interests, needs, timescale and budget, providing educational, creative and enjoyable learning experiences, whilst promoting a greater understanding of world music, dance and cultures.
Workshops can be designed to complement your curriculum or event themes. Some of our most popular themes have been: Diversity Week, India Week, Village India, World Music, Harvest Festival, Festival of Light & Diwali.
Our artists and artefacts
All of Surtal Arts’ artists are trained and experienced tutors with CRB/DBS checks
Surtal Arts has extensive culturally specific artefacts and costumes that are used in schools workshops. Schools can also have these on loan for their independent use.
Workshop costs depend on the activity chosen and amount of materials required for the art form.
